Default Vinigar for blood sugar

I am reading lots lately about vinigar helping blood sugar count. Some studies are even saying dill pickles and the pickle juice is a good helper. Apple cider vinigar is supposd to be good but I can't stomach it on the best of days. I tried it with warm water but I hate it. I am going to try making up salad dressings with it and see if I can disguise the nasty flavour it gives. Anyone use it? got any tricks to disguise it. For some reason I am just not into the sour stuff, never even really liked salt and vinigar chips when I was a kid, That might have been a good thing :-)

Smile Vinegar

Hi there. Saw your post on vinegar.
There is some literature on apple cider vinegar regarding blood sugar in "The World's Greatest Treasury of Health Secrets". This book is sold through infomercial and all information is backed up by doctors. Apple cider is supposed to help blood sugar but I havent' tried it yet. I mix the apple cider vinegar with water and drink it that way. Apple cider vinegar is a good aid to digestion as well.
My father used it for arthritis. He swore by it.
Take care.

I am glad to see that you seem to have some interest in this subject. Since we don't all have this book you are referring to, it would be cool if you were to post a few points of interest that you might find in it on this site. I am trying to find more that I have found in some of my books. Thanks for your reply to this subject.

Default Apple Cider Vinegar

Thanks for your interest in vinegar.
To quote: "In a recent study, healthy patients and patients with a prediabetic condition known as insulin resistance drank a vinegar drink (1/8 cup of vinegar diluted with 1/4 cup of water and sweetened with saccharine) or a placebo drink before a high-carbohydrate meal. The vinegar treatment improved insulin sensitivity by up to 40% in both groups".
The theory is that vinegar inhibits the breakdown of carbs, thereby decreasing the blood glucose spikes that occur in people with diabetes.

ISBN no. for the book is 0-88723-395-3.

Other resources for you to consider are drdavidwilliams.com. He is a medical doctor and has some good alternatives on his site and in his research to help you manage your diabetes and other maladies. I really haven't been inspired by my medical doctor and the treatment regime so I am always looking at other ways (other than pharmaceuticals) to manage my condition.
Have you heard of Melabic?
Are you aware of Chromium? Bilberry?

Take care, talk to you soon.

Nice quote, I had not realized that before altho I knew about vinigar, I will try drinking some before each meal and see if it helps me throughout the day.
I need some help in a big way because no matter what I do ever since my work place decided I was useless and has refused to let me come back to work, I still have high sugars and can't seem to get it back down. I don't need the job anymore but it is the matter in which they did it that makes me angry, mostly for anyone who this is also happening to who needs the money to feed their kids and so on. They have done it to three people so far as I know and there is a big fight starting up over it to make the company pay back the losses some have taken and treat them with dignity and I will stay in this fight for that very reason and I know it is going to be a huge raise on the blood sugars if I don't find help before it actually gets to the heated part of the fight.
Anyway thanks for your great posts, things like this are what helps us go longer and better our health on the way.
