Exclamation back pain...possible due to pms?

i don't know if this back pain is triggered also by premenstrual syndrome. i hav premenstrual syndrome(pms). but as i grow older, i experience more of the symtoms for pms. what possible food or exercise i can do or eat so as to lessen my pms.

I actually only get back pain and not stomach cramps like a lot of women. Taking magnesium supplements helps me, so you might want to talk to your doctor or a nutritionist.

my back gets worse before or during my period, the older I get.
I find a hot water bottle or heating pad helps.

I get back pain at the time of my period and at ovulation, it can be very uncomfortable at times. I hardly ever get stomach cramps, just the back pain, and it has got worse as I have got older. I find that heat helps a bit and I take painkillers when necessary, but mostly it is just a case of putting up with it and hoping it will soon go away.

I get both though not so much the back pain. I also get pains that run from my stomach right down the front of my thighs to my knees. It's like a dragging sensation, as if someone was digging their fingers into me then pulling them down the length of my thighs. Very weird and unpleasant. I think it's when I'm ovulating too I get that.

Mine's got worse as I've got older as well. In my teens and twenties I sailed through them. You can't beat a hot water bottle or a hot bath I think, then popping some painkillers and having an early night.

You are right a hot bath works wonders, I have even used those stick on heat pads when it has been really bad.

It seems to me that the various PMS pains get worse as you get older. I found anti-inflammatories helped with the back pain, but you need to be careful; they can increase your flow because they thin the blood a bit.

The thing I found helped with period pains the most was stopping using tampons. That doesn't help pre period back pains though! I think keeping moving if you can or a hot water bottle if you can't should help though.

Really, Green- Moo? That's very interesting. I've never used anything else since I was about fourteen. I wonder why that is? Worth a try though! (she says, guzzling the Midol, which do zero but are all she has right now. )

Next incarnation I better come back as a guy...

Those stick-on heat patches, I can't remember the brand-name, that say they will stay warm for twelve hours or so, I found did what they claimed. When you are done with your period, some strengthening back exercises could help with your next period. Getting out and walking could help if you can't find any exercises that go well with your back.

Using tampons shouldn't effect the amount of pain you have unless it's inserted incorrectly, you're using the wrong size, you leave it in for extended amounts of time, or you have something "unusual" about you down there (such as a tilted cervix). Did you try using a different kind of tampons before stopping altogether?
