One idea that our parents used to do is to put a sheet of plywood in between the mattress and box spring. They thought it helped, although I never tried it. If you sleep on your back, you could put a little roll or pillow between the small of your back and the mattress. Do you find that heat helps? If so, you could buy some of those sticky heat iron oxide pads that stay hot for hours. However, I believe they caution against use during sleep but I found it worked for me. A chiro wouldn't hurt, either.
