Question Can I be pregnant?

So i think i am pregnant but so far two home test's and two test's at the doctors have come up negative. I went for a blood test yesterday but I have to wait untill Tuesday for the results.

Here are some of my symptoms, do you think I could be pregnant?

Nausia, heartburn, backache, missed period, bulge in my lower belly, tiredness, dizziness, hightened sense of smell, little bit tender breats, clumsiness and of course forgetfullness and i am constantly having to pee.

I have never been pregnant before, so I dont know if I "feel" pregnant or not. My dr thinks that I am but his test was negative and when he started feeling my bulge he said their could be a baby in their but he could not tell for sure or not.

Any comments would be appreciated.

That many tests in my opinion would not tell a lie. Some people have a faulse pregnancy feeling and possibly there was something for a very short while that did not stay on for some reason. This might be enough time for your body to act as if it is just long enough to bother you and if so will stop soon when the body realises it is not anymore, it is a hormonal change thing that happens in preparation for a pregnancy and during a pregnancy.
I find it funny that your doctor says he thinks there might be something in there. Usually they go by the test results. A test is usually the tell all. I could be wrong but I am sure 4tests are telling you the story for now and his guessing just seems unprofessional, did he not do anything else besides the blood test and a guess?

I guess we've all heard of the rare cases when some women aren't aware that they're pregnant up until the time that they give birth.

I think it's a good idea for you to follow up on the tests and doctor's opinions till you get a firm diagnosis.

Be healthy...

I too am puzzled by your doctor's response. You can't feel the fundus (the top of your uterus) over the pubic bone until you're at least 12 weeks along, so unless you've missed several periods there'd be no sense in palpating your tummy anyway. Did he do a vaginal exam? There are changes the cervix goes through that are far better indicators of pregnancy (it turns blueish, for one, detectable in a first pregnancy from week 6, called 'Chadwick's sign').

Of course, nobody does vag exams to determine pregnancy any more... it's far easier just to pee on a stick. Honestly, the urine tests are so sensitive these days that if you had enough circulating hcg at levels to support a pregnancy, it would turn out positive. I would wonder at, in a rare circumstance, the brand name of the test, where it was bought (dollar store versus drugstore) etc, but you took three separate tests both at home and at the doctor's office. If you're at least one week past your missed period, there should be no problem with accuracy, particularly over three tests.

If the blood test does come back negative, ask about other reasons for missed periods. There are many reasons why your periods may stop; being underweight or overweight; exercising too much; some hormonal and/or emotional disorders, stress, it goes on. There's even a condition called pseudocyesis in which a woman will be so convinced she's pregnant that her periods will stop. I'm not suggesting that's what's happening to you, but it's an interesting comment on how much our mental states affect our bodies.

Best of luck,

LS

If there is a noticeable bulge to feel surely your doctor should be requesting an ultrasound examination to find out exactly what is going on inside. It all sounds a bit odd.

I am kind of going through the same thing, although, I have had two positive home pg tests, but the urine test at the dr office was negative. Now just waiting for blood results. I have sore breasts, but they are sore with every cycle, my hunger is out of control, I have alot of gas feelings going on in my stomch, which is not normal for me. I almost feel like doing another pg test just to make sure.

Vegetable: You likely shouldn't have a bulge if you're coming up negative in urine tests. If you're having that much discomfort, you definitely need to get your doctor to check out other possibilities. How did your blood tests turn out?

Snuggles: You're probably just quicker than your doctor. My two home tests came up faint positives, the doctor's urine test came up negative. Blood test proved it though: I'm most definitely preggers!

My friend said that her mom's pregnancy wasn't detectable until the 4th month. The pregnancy went to full term and my friend's older brother was born.
