Default Which Vitamins Do You Take?

Do you take daily vitamins? If so, which? I take a multi vitamin, an extra vitamin C, and a calcium. I don't remember to actually take them each day, but I'm working on that.

Default daily vits

I take a vegetarian multiple vitamin, being that I'm a veggie. I also take extra C, and echinacia when I think it's needed around colds time. My doctor has told me to take 2000mg vit D for bone health. He says that since people aren't sun tanning anymore, they need extra D to keep bones strong. I also take folic acid, a really good source of B vits, and over the counter iron as I have a tendency to be anemic. Yikes, that sounds like alot!

Default vitamins

I take calcium because I have been lactose intolerant for many years. I try to take liquid calcium because it is best absorbed by the body, but unfortunatley most liquid calcium I have found is calcium carbonate. I have heard that calcium citrate is better, so I'm not sure which would be best. Any thoughts?

I used to take a multi-vitamin tablet daily, at first it was really great but later on it wasn't helping me out, after which I stopped using it continuously.

The last few months or so, I have been taking calcium, cranberry pills, and vitamin C. I have noticed some really great improvements since I began taking them, for example, I don't get as many UTIs as I used to, and I don't get that sniffley nose I used to have constantly.

I didn't used to take any at all, but now that I'm getting a little older I take a daily multi vitamin and that seems to be working fine for me

I really must start taking a multi vitamin. I keep meaning to, but when I get to the counter there is so much choice and I get a bit bewildered! Already after reading this thread I want to take everything you are all taking!

What was it that made you think it wasn't helping you? I mean how were you able to tell whether or not a multi was supplementing your nutrition? For me, it's never been a thing I could "feel" helping or not... I was just always glad knowing I'd taken them.

Centrum is my vitamins. It's complete from A to Z. It makes me energetic even if I've got many paper works to do in the office. I'm taking the same kind of vitamins for almost a year.

I just take your average One A Day vitamin for women. I have a real bad habit of forgetting to take it on a daily basis though.

"Centrum, complete from A to Z"... you sound like their television commercial I've heard! Actually I think most multis have the "A to Z" vitamins and minerals.

Hi everyone! First time poster, go easy on me!

I take Vitamins A, C, D, E, Folic Acid and Selenium. I was just taking Vit D for deficiency and folic acid because we are considering getting pregnant but after reading in a magazine that Vitamins A, C, E and selenium was good for antiaging, I jumped on it! LOL I dont know how true it is but I consulted my doctor and she didn't see any harm in it. We'll see after a few months of taking them how I feel!

I noticed that Sage Mother said they take Vitamin B for energy. I might add that one too, maybe it will help my fibromyalgia.

I haven't had a chance to read anything on the forum yet but I'm sure it will keep me busy with lots of interesting reading.

Thanks for listening

IMHO vitamins should come from the foods you eat. Watch this video for inspiration.

It varies for me but here's what my daily regimen has been lately:

-A Greens Plus smoothie
-Fish Oil
-Apple Cider Vinegar
-A children's multivitamin I take with my kids

I'm also trying to do what I call rainbow dieting where I'm trying to get as many colours on the plate as possible from healthy food. I'm trying to make my vegetable portions larger and my protein as lean as possible with only a small amount of starch.

Lately, every few months I alter my approach slightly.

Based on testing, my doctor told me to take the Jamieson B 100 complex vitamin, and further testing showed that helped my situation.

Otherwise I'm not currently taking vitamins, but I try to eat a balanced diet.

I take Centrum too...when I remember, that is. I'm terrible about forgetting to take medications, even prescribed ones, so I don't take my vitamins nearly as often as I should.

I don't really take vitamins at this time of year but in the winter it really feels like my system needs the added boost from them. Usually I just take a once a day multivitamin. I've no particular brand loyalty and buy whatever happens to be cheapest that day.

I take a mutli-vitamin, vitamin C, and magnesium. I also pump up on extra vitamin C if I feel like I'm starting to get sick.

Can you tell me more about this? What's it supposed to do for us? How much do you take, and is it like straight from the bottle on a tablespoon? Not sure I could get used to that! Or do you "hide" it in food or drink?
