Default Anti Depressant trial and error

I was on Citalopram for about 3 years and had absolutely wonderful results, unbelievably wonderful. Then my husband left and it stopped working. As this was clearly a situational problem I waited 18 months before asking for something else.

My doctor switched me to Cipralex and that stopped the crying but the best I could say after 6 months was that things were Grim.

I've now been on Venlafaxine for 8 months with barely better feeling and very unsettling dreams.

I'm tired of playing trial and error and would not keep trying if the Citalopram had not been something so terrific. The Citalopram was originally prescribed for anxiety. The depression lift was a terrific side effect.

I am female and 61. Any suggestions? thanks, g
