Default The "sleep" suggestion

In the month or so I've been learning hypnosis I've found that nothing freaks people out more than the "sleep" command.

This evening a friend
of mine, who is reluctant to give hypnosis a try, was asking me about the "sleep" command as I was hypnotising another friend. He was concerned about long term effects. "But what if she's driving or something?" he asked me.

"Lets see", I said. My friend was going into trance very easily and deeply whenever I said "sleep", so after proving this a couple of times I asked her to hold out her hand and I balanced a wine glass on it. I then said "sleep!" again. I tried several times. Of course she didn't, she merely said "No, I'll drop the glass!"

Proved my point to my friend. Question is though, have I proven that hypnosis is really just safe, warm and fuzzy, or have I merely proven that I just wasn't effective enough with my sleep PHS?

Default Hypnosis

I think your friend was so concerned about the 'sleep' command that she never paid attention on your command, rather she was trying not to loose her control, or else you were just not good enough
