new to acupuncture
What should I expect from a preliminary meeting from someone who is qualified and really believes in acupuncture. I'm looking at acupuncture to treat acne and recently went to a chiropractor who offered acupunture (my benefits through work require the acupuncturist to be a chiropractor, RMT or naturopath.)
Anyway, the acupunturist/chiropractor asked me a couple basic question then we did a acunpuncture session with maybe 10 needles in my back and arms. He said they were points for stress and to improve intestines and digestion.
I guess I was expecting more questions about diet, etc. PLus I've heard about acunpuncturist analyzing your tongue and other things. When I left I was wondering, is this guy doing acupuncture more as an extra service to make more money, or because he really believes in it. Part of the reason I left thinking that was because in addition he recommended some topical cream. Where another acupunturist (who I wouldn't be covered with) suggested topical creams and stuff, might help on the surface but are really just pushing the toxins back into your body.
anyway. I'm curious what I should expect from someone who really believes in chinese medicines and acupuncture.
thanks.
