Default what is the government policy on abortion in canada?

New to canada. What is the governments stance on abortion? Is there a strong prolife and prochoice movement? Is it a government funded procedure like it is in scandinavia?

Yeah, it's pretty much prochoice as far as i'm aware. I'm not sure if the gov covers it though

Abortion rules are different for each place. But for canada legal abortions cases are limited. I am not from canada but I searched this for you on net and i got to know that it depends on cases. Other wise it is not legal.

There used to be demonstrations outside the Morgantaler clinic in Toronto, about 20 years ago.

My impression is that it is currently legal and quite readily available in Canada.

Being from Alberta, it's covered by our health care system and you don't need a parent's consent if you're 14 and up
